🇺🇸🇰🇭 Celebrating 75 Years of U.S.–Cambodia Partnership: Chargé d’Affaires Bridgette L. Walker met with Senate President Hun Sen today to reaffirm the enduring partnership between the United States and Cambodia, marking 75 years of strong bilateral relations. They discussed U.S. support for the Cambodia-Thailand ceasefire and ways to ensure an enduring peace out of the conflict. Senate President Hun Sen expressed gratitude to President Trump and the United States for helping secure the ceasefire agreement and for U.S. foreign assistance to Cambodians displaced by the conflict, including more than $500,000 of supplementary food for displaced women and children; lifesaving maternal and child health equipment; 30,000 bottles of topical mosquito repellent and 200,000 insecticide-treated nets to prevent the spread of malaria; and funding to provide more than 500 classes on UXO and landmine awareness in affected communities. He praised the U.S. for its enduring partnership with Cambodia, including being the first to recognize an independent Cambodia in 1950. The constructive discussion also covered several top U.S. priorities, including Cambodia’s commitment to repatriating its nationals who are illegally in the United States and combatting online scam centers.

As we celebrate 75 years of friendship, the United States remains committed to working with Cambodia to build a brighter, more secure future for both nations. 🇺🇸🇰🇭
